World's Best Banana Bread

I love banana bread.  And this recipe is so amazing.  It makes a delicious, dense, moist loaf.  It never fails when I make this recipe it is gone in no time (less than 24 hours!).  My kids would eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between if I let them.  I really can't blame them this is so flavorful and put a little pat of butter on it...yummmm!

World's Best Banana Bread
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp nutmeg
pinch of ground cloves
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs beaten
5-6 large ripened bananas, mashed (about 2-1/2 cups)

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a loaf pan by lightly greasing
  • In a large bowl combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves
  • In a medium bowl cream together butter and sugar
  • Stir in eggs and banana until fully combined
  • Combine banana mixture and flour mixture (do not over mix!  Just stir to moisten)
  • Pour into prepared pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack
Seriously, the best banana bread ever!  Full of banana flavor and it's incredibly moist.  My husband, who isn't a big fan of banana bread, just loves this recipe (I caught him eating 2 slices last time).  If you don't have enough bananas you can always use applesauce to equal the 2-1/2 cups.  If you want you can most definitely add some walnuts, chocolate chips, or whatever else you like.  Give it a try and I bet you will fall in love!
